A brand new episode of The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper, a CNN Original series, will be airing on Sunday, April 7 at 8pm ET/PT. This emotional episode is titled “Hostages: The Road Home” and is presented by CNN Anchor and Senior Global Affairs Analyst Bianna Golodryga.
This episode takes place six months after the deadliest attack in Israel’s 75-year history. Golodryga interviews family members of the over 250 men, women, and children who were kidnapped on October 7, 2023 by Hamas militants. She speaks with parents who witnessed the capture of their children through footage shared on social media by Hamas. Additionally, she talks to a woman who survived by barricading herself in a safe room but later discovered that her children had been taken from their father’s nearby home.
Frustrated by the lack of progress in reaching a hostage deal, one of the families has established a protest station near IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv. While some families have been reunited with their missing loved ones over the past six months, others continue to fight for resolution.
Golodryga emphasizes the importance of remembering that these hostages are not just numbers but real people with families and loved ones. Their experiences have been unimaginable and sharing their stories with CNN and the world is an honor for both Golodryga and CNN.
In addition to speaking with family members directly impacted by this tragedy, Golodryga also conducts interviews with released hostages.
