Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, renowned for his on-field prowess and boisterous personality, is adding “late-night host” to his already impressive resume. ESPN is giving Kelce the keys to his own show, aptly titled “They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce,” set to premiere Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 1 a.m. ET. Filmed in front of a live audience at Philadelphia’s Union Transfer, the show aims to blend Kelce’s distinct humor and football insights with a mix of celebrity guests, both from within the sports world and beyond.
The show’s unusual airtime — taped Friday evenings just hours before its Sunday morning broadcast — reflects the fast-paced, unpredictable nature of the NFL itself. This unconventional approach allows Kelce to offer hot takes on the latest games and league happenings while they’re still fresh in everyone’s minds. The five-episode run will continue weekly through the playoffs, culminating before the Pro Bowl Games.
The title “They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce” is a playful homage to NFL Films’ iconic 1967 documentary “They Call It Pro Football.” Adding to the show’s Philly flavor, local band SNACKTIME will provide the live soundtrack. Beyond its initial ESPN broadcast, the show will be widely available on ESPN+, ESPN’s YouTube channel, and Jason Kelce’s YouTube channel presented by ESPN, with re-airs on ESPN2 on Saturday mornings.
