New life arrives in all its messy glory on this week’s episode of “This Farming Life.” On the remote island of Papay, expectant mother Mel faces the added challenge of having no hospital nearby. She’ll have to travel to mainland Orkney to give birth, which, let’s be frank, sounds significantly less than ideal.
Elsewhere, Nick and Derek are locked in a battle to save a newborn calf, while the Imrie family prepares for the arrival of a different kind of new life: lambs! A visiting nursery group gets more than they bargained for when they witness the miracle of lambing firsthand. Because nothing says wholesome family entertainment like a bunch of toddlers watching a sheep give birth.
From the dramatic to the heartwarming, “This Farming Life” continues to offer a compelling portrait of the challenges and joys of rural life. Catch it on BBC Scotland at 8:00 PM on Monday.
