Today with Hoda & Jenna: Yara Shahidi, Marissa Bode

Today with Hoda & Jenna

So, Monday morning. Maybe you’re still recovering from the weekend, or maybe you’re just trying to make it to lunchtime. Either way, “Today with Hoda & Jenna” has a little something for everyone this Monday, November 18.

First up: Actress Yara Shahidi will be talking about her new podcast, “The Optimist Project,” where she chats with people change makers. In this current climate, a little optimism might be just what the doctor ordered.

Next, they’re bringing in Marissa Bode from “Wicked.” Because who doesn’t love a little musical action on a Monday morning? If they break into song, I might actually get out of bed.

Then, because Thanksgiving is basically next week (how did that happen?), Martyn Lawrence Bullard will be on hand with Thanksgiving entertaining tips. Consider this your preemptive strike against dry turkey and awkward family conversations. Maybe Bullard can offer advice on that, too.

And if you’re looking for a good book to escape into (perhaps after said awkward family conversations), author Nikki May will be discussing her novel “This Motherless Land”—the Read With Jenna pick for November. It’s billed as a reimagining of Jane Austen’s “Mansfield Park” with a dash of “The Vanishing Half.” Intriguing, right?

Oh, and Kaylee Hartung will have the latest sports news. Because there’s always sports.

“Today with Hoda & Jenna” airs Monday, November 18, at 10:00 AM on NBC. Set your DVRs, or, you know, stream it later. Whatever works.
