TODAY with Jenna & Friends: A Week of Co-Hosts and Lunar New Year Feasts (NBC, Week of January 27, 2024)

Today with Hoda & Jenna

Jenna Bush Hager’s got some friends. Some friendly faces are dropping by the fourth hour of TODAY for a week of co-hosting duties, celebrity interviews, and segments that.

Kelsea Ballerini kicks things off on Monday, tackling the ever-enigmatic “Girl Code” and offering “The Scoop” with Justin Sylvester. One can only speculate what mysteries will be revealed. Also, Idina Menzel stops by to chat about Redwood. Winter accessories with Adrienne Bailon-Houghton round out the hour, just in case your earmuffs aren’t trendy enough.

Tuesday brings Jordin Sparks, pulling double duty as co-host and performer. She’ll be wading into “The Internet’s Divided,” a segment that I’m assuming involves a lot of pointing and exasperated sighs. Jack McBrayer will discuss his project You’re Cordially Invited, while author Emma Knight looks into the surprisingly complicated life of the common octopus.

Ciara takes the co-host chair on Wednesday, leading a segment cryptically titled “Sip or Spill,” which could involve anything from tea-spilling gossip to spilled beverages. Beauty gadgets and Lunar New Year cooking with Esther Choi complete the mid-week lineup. I’m more interested in the latter, if only for the potential culinary mishaps.

Thursday sees Wynonna Judd take the reins, tackling the treacherous waters of “Social Dilemmas.” Jordan Andino will likely be cooking something, and Jenna’s Bookshop will presumably involve books. Friday brings Ciara back for another round of co-hosting, this time confronting the age-old question: “Trend or Pretend?” Lauren Graham will be discussing The Z-Suite, while Melissa Garcia promises to help you “Get the Look.” What look? I don’t know, I’ve never had it!
