Today Show: Gwen Stefani, Ken Burns, and “Wicked” Whispers

The Today Show

This Thursday, NBC’s “TODAY” offers a typically eclectic mix. So, whether you’re a fan of musicals, documentaries, holiday prep, or just a general consumer of morning show miscellany, there might be something to pique your interest.

For the entertainment-minded, the anchors are expected to offer a glimpse into the upcoming “Wicked” movie musical. Also stopping by is documentarian Ken Burns, discussing his latest PBS series on Leonardo Da Vinci — a departure from his usual Americana fare. One wonders if he’ll tackle Da Vinci’s flying machines with the same reverence he gives baseball.

But perhaps the biggest draw is a live performance from Gwen Stefani. She will also be talking about her new album “Bouquet.” For those more inclined to culinary pursuits, Donna Kelce, the mother of NFL stars Travis and Jason Kelce, will grace the TODAY Food segment. Expect some form of football-adjacent dish or perhaps a discussion of how to manage Thanksgiving dinner for a family of Super Bowl champions.

The 9:00am hour takes a turn towards the practical, with advice on how to combat the scourge of junk mail. Ally Love will offer holiday fitness tips, useful if you plan on offsetting Donna Kelce’s culinary creations. Also, actor Chad Michael Murray is scheduled to discuss his saucy new “Magic Mike” style Netflix Christmas rom-com The Merry Gentlemen. Check out the trailer below.

Rounding things out are segments on holiday table décor with Christina Stembel, and must-have travel items from Chassie Post’s “Hot List.”
