The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, NBC, Week of January 27

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

So, another week of The Tonight Show, and who do we have gracing Jimmy’s couch? A curious mix, it seems. Shailene Woodley, Martha Stewart, and Ohio State football coach Ryan Day? That Monday lineup is more eclectic than a thrift store’s vinyl collection.

Tuesday brings Amy Schumer and Joe Keery, and while I appreciate the potential for some solid comedy, it’s the musical guest, Djo, that has piqued my interest. I’m curious to see if The Tonight Show can work its strange magic and catapult Djo into the mainstream consciousness.

Wednesday, we have Reese Witherspoon and Rob Gronkowski. And there’s music from Simply Red, which might be a welcome respite, or maybe not.

Finally, Thursday’s lineup features Pete Davidson and Sadie Sink, which makes a sort of sense. Throw in up-and-coming singer Olivia Tiedemann and it’s, dare I say, a balanced sort of night? It’s a decent mix to close out the week, but the memory of Gronkowski might linger like a stale sports sock in the green room.
