Things take a decidedly dark turn this Sunday in the second episode of BBC One’s “Towards Zero.” After a first episode thick with unspoken tensions and simmering resentments among the guests at the Gull’s Point estate, a shocking discovery rocks the household: murder. Suddenly, the idyllic seaside setting becomes a crime scene, and the clock is ticking for Inspector Leach to unravel the truth.
Played with a weary charm by Matthew Rhys, Leach has his work cut out for him. Distracted by his own personal struggles, he must regain his focus to work through the complicated web of relationships and secrets at Gull’s Point. Set in 1936, the drama features a classic Christie-esque cast of characters, including a powerful family matriarch played by Anjelica Huston, a tangled love triangle, and enough jealousy to fuel a dozen drawing-room mysteries.
Jack Farthing stars as Thomas Royde, Khalil Gharbia as Louis Morel, Ella Lily Hyland as Audrey Strange, Oliver Jackson-Cohen as Nevile Strange, and Mimi Keene as Kay Elliot. The supporting cast includes Clarke Peters, Anjana Vasan, Adam Hugill, and Grace Doherty.
With a script penned by Rachel Bennette and directed by Sam Yates, “Towards Zero” offers a stylish take on Agatha Christie’s classic novel. Don’t miss the second episode, airing Sunday, March 9th at 9:00 PM on BBC One.
Towards Zero is a Agatha Christie Productions Limited and Mammoth Screen production for BBC One. Executive producers are Sarah Phelps, Damien Timmer, and James Prichard.
