BBC One revisits the era of scandalous whispers and deadly secrets with Towards Zero. Set in 1936 England, the series begins not with a bang, but with the whimper of a particularly messy divorce. Tennis star Nevile Strange and his ex-wife, Audrey, make the questionable decision to summer together at Gull’s Point, their childhood home. Adding fuel to this already volatile fire is Nevile’s current wife, Kay. It’s a recipe for disaster, less a reunion and more a slow-burn descent into chaos.
Gull’s Point quickly becomes a breeding ground for dysfunctional personalities. The house party guest list reads like an Agatha Christie casting call: a long-suffering lady’s companion, a suspicious valet, an exiled cousin, a family lawyer, a curious orphan, and a French con man. Amidst this toxic stew of resentment and hidden motives, a troubled detective must sharpen his skills to solve the inevitable crime.
Towards Zero combines classic whodunit elements with a healthy dose of upper-class dysfunction. Tune in to BBC One on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 9:00 PM to see if anyone makes it out of Gull’s Point alive.
