WE tv’s cameras are once again following the lives of Toya Johnson Rushing and Reginae Carter, as the mother-daughter duo returns for a new season of “Toya & Reginae.” Set to premiere in January 2025, the reality series will air on WE tv and will also be available to stream exclusively on ALLBLK, bringing viewers another dose of drama, ambition, and complicated family relationships. Take a look at the trailer below.
This season splits its focus between two very different, yet equally compelling storylines. Toya, the ever-resilient matriarch, faces a significant emotional test as her brother, Walter, returns home after serving time in prison. The series is set to examine the challenges and adjustments that come with reintegration, both for Walter and the entire family. It’s a storyline ripe for genuine emotion, and one that has the potential to add a new, deeper level of honesty to the show.
Meanwhile, Reginae, stepping further into her own spotlight, is pursuing a major acting role—a move that no doubt will bring its own set of pressures and anxieties. Adding to the mix, Reginae is also juggling a new, secret relationship. The decision to keep it under wraps, at least initially, suggests there’s plenty of juicy material there for the show to unpack.
Instead of merely coasting on the familiar beats of celebrity life, the show this season appears to be taking a closer look at the messier, less predictable aspects of family and ambition. Toya’s situation with her brother isn’t the usual manufactured drama; it has the potential for some serious and possibly awkward conversations, and how that plays out on screen is the real hook. Similarly, Reginae’s move into acting and a private romance gives the series a chance to go beyond the surface, to see what drives her, what scares her, and how she deals with the inevitable ups and downs.
