Colter Shaw, the laconic, justice-seeking protagonist of CBS’s Tracker, usually deals with matters of slightly larger import than missing canines. But in “Man’s Best Friend,” airing Sunday, November 24th, a stolen pup becomes the unlikely catalyst for an episode that looks to blend sentimentality and suspense.
It’s a classic set-up: Colter (Justin Hartley) finds a lost dog, temporarily adopts it as his furry co-pilot, and then, bam! The dog is snatched right out of his truck. Now, Colter, a man who’s made a career out of finding people, sets his sights on a four-legged target.
This episode marks a slight tonal shift for the series. While Colter’s relentless pursuit of the dognappers will undoubtedly feature its share of action, the emotional core of the story—reuniting a family with their pet—taps into a universal vulnerability. Will this tug at the heartstrings or just feel like a filler episode? We’ll see if Tracker can pull off this potentially mawkish maneuver.
“Man’s Best Friend,” written by Alex Katsnelson & Jai Franklin Sarki and directed by Ben Hernandez Bray, airs Sunday, November 24th from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM EST on CBS and will be available for streaming on Paramount+.
