Colter Shaw, the guy who finds things other people can’t, is back on CBS, and this time, he’s chasing a ghost. Or, at least, that’s what it looks like in “The Night Movers,” the upcoming December 1 episode of Tracker. Someone hires Shaw (Justin Hartley) to find a man presumed dead for months following a car crash. Now, either this is a case of mistaken identity, elaborate insurance fraud, or Shaw’s suddenly expanded his repertoire to include paranormal investigations. Of course this leaves me curious how this procedural plans to pull this one off.
Frankly, dead guys don’t tend to leave much of a trail, even for a resourceful tracker like Shaw. This raises more questions than answers. Is the “dead” man actually alive and hiding? Is someone trying to frame him? Or is something far stranger afoot? One thing’s for sure: the writers appear to be aiming for an extra dose of intrigue this week.
But the ghostly pursuit isn’t the only thing on Shaw’s plate. “The Night Movers” also suggests progress in Shaw’s long-running family dramas. This will certainly satisfy viewers who’ve been following that particular thread, as those kind of dangling plot lines can really chafe a dedicated watcher.
Trracker airs Sundays at 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network, and streams on Paramount+.
