Trailer for New Thriller “Shining Girls” Released – Fri, April 29 on Apple TV



The trailer for the highly anticipated series “Shining Girls,” starring and executive produced by Emmy Award-winning actress Elisabeth Moss, was published today on Apple TV+.

The metaphysical thriller will premiere on screens around the world on Friday, April 29, 2022, with the first three episodes, followed by one new episode every Friday thereafter. The series is produced by  and executive produced by Appian Way. Showrunner Silka Luisa adapted the story for television, and Emmy Award winner Michelle MacLaren directed the first two episodes.

“Shining Girls,” based on Lauren Beukes’ best-selling novel, follows Kirby Mazrachi (Moss), a Chicago newspaper archivist whose journalistic dreams have been put on hold after a brutal assault. When Kirby discovers that a new murder resembles her own case, she teams up with veteran but disturbed reporter Dan Velazquez (Wagner Moura) to find her assailant. Their own personal traumas and Kirby’s clouded reality allow her assailant to stay one step ahead as they understand these cold cases are intrinsically linked. The compelling thriller also stars Phillipa Soo, Amy Brenneman, and Jamie Bell, in addition to Moss and Moura.

Silka Luisa, who also works as showrunner, executive produces and produces “Shining Girls” for television. Through Love and Squalor Pictures, Elisabeth Moss stars, directs, and executive produces alongside Lindsey McManus. Through Appian Way, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson, and Michael Hampton serve as executive producers. MacLaren Entertainment’s Michelle MacLaren directs and co-produces with Rebecca Hobbs. Daina Reid is the director and executive producer of the film. Executive producers are author Lauren Beukes and Alan Page Arriaga.
