Trigger Point Series 2 Premiere Sunday 28 January on ITV1

Trigger Point

Trigger Point,” the action packed thriller, is set to return for its second series on ITV1 and ITVX this Sunday night at 9.00pm. Starring Vicky McClure in the lead role as Lana ‘Wash’ Washington, a police bomb disposal officer (Expo), the show promises to deliver another gripping season.

Joining McClure are returning cast members Nabil Elouahabi as Hass, Eric Shango as Danny, Mark Stanley as DCI Thom Youngblood, Kerry Godliman as Sonya Reeves, Kris Hitchen as John, and Kevin Eldon as Jeff. The second series also welcomes new additions to the cast including Natalie Simpson who plays DS Helen Morgan, Julian Ovenden portraying Commander John Francis, and Tomiwa Edun taking on the character of Alex.

The six-part series has been written by Simon Ashdown, Amanda Duke, and Daniel Brierley with Brierley serving as creator. Each episode promises non-stop action and suspense underlined by their expert storytelling.

In episode one we find Lana back from her secondment in Estonia where she was training Ukrainian bomb disposal teams. While she has not yet returned to active duty with her team in London’s Metropolitan Police Bomb Disposal Squad (Expo), she finds herself giving a routine talk about bomb-centered terrorism issues to security officers from major financial institutions.

However, just when everything seems ordinary during her presentation there is suddenly a bomb attack that occurs right at the heart of the city. In an unexpected twist of fate or perhaps divine irony given Lana’s expertise in handling bombs? Regardless: despite being closest to the incident unfolding before everyone’s eyes—the question remains—is Lana ready both physically and mentally prepared enough to take it on?

This gripping opening episode sets up what promises to be another thrilling season filled with tension-packed moments that explore themes such as terrorism and personal growth within intense situations requiring nerves of steel.

Be sure not miss out on all explosive action when “Trigger Point” returns on ITV1 and ITVX on Sunday 28 January 2024 at 9.00pm.
