Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living “Baby Steps” (BET, Tuesday, December 10, 2024)

Tyler Perry's Assisted Living Key Art

In the realm of sitcoms, where domestic squabbles and outlandish schemes reign supreme, “Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living” consistently delivers its own brand of chaotic charm. Tuesday’s episode, “Baby Steps,” centers on Leah and Jeremy’s marital misadventures as they attempt to expand their family. Leah, armed with some rather unorthodox baby-making strategies, throws their relationship into a comical tailspin, while elsewhere in the Wilson family ecosystem, Sandra and Philip grapple with the potential fallout of a social media ban.

It’s a tale as old as time (or at least as old as multivitamins and ovulation calendars): a couple’s differing approaches to family planning. Leah’s enthusiasm for her new, let’s just say unique, baby-making plan borders on the obsessive, much to Jeremy’s chagrin. He finds her techniques not only bothersome but entirely pointless, leading to some classic sitcom friction. Will their marriage survive this latest hurdle? Given the show’s track record, probably, but not without some entertaining bumps along the way.

Meanwhile, Sandra and Philip find themselves grappling with a very 21st-century problem: a potential social media ban. While the exact nature of this threat remains unclear, one can imagine the potential for comedic gold. For these two, a life unplugged could be a fate worse than dial-up. Their attempts to avert this digital disaster are sure to be a highlight of the episode.
