Five seasons felt like enough for Nickelodeon, which has officially cancelled Tyler Perry’s comedy series “Young Dylan.” The show, which followed young rapper Dylan Gilmer as he negotiates the music business while living with family, will not return for a sixth season.
The news came out via an Instagram post from cast member Carl Anthony Payne II, who played the uncle. He shared his thanks to Tyler Perry and everyone involved with the show at Tyler Perry Studios (TPS). This announcement landed just one week after the fifth season’s final episode aired, making the cancellation relatively swift after the latest batch of episodes wrapped up.
“Young Dylan” also featured Mieko Hillman in its main cast. The show was created by Tyler Perry, who has a long history of producing successful projects across various platforms, often with a focus on family-friendly stories.
