Wednesday’s dose of UK soap opera drama brings heart-to-hearts, cover-ups, and family feuds to our screens. From Walford to Chester and the Yorkshire Dales, here’s a glimpse at what’s in store:

Over in EastEnders (BBC One, 7:30 PM), Nigel and Phil find themselves in a much-needed discussion. What words of wisdom (or warnings) will they exchange? Meanwhile, Hollyoaks (E4, 7:00 PM) sees DI Banks scrambling to bury his misdeeds, but Donny is hot on his trail, threatening to expose everything. Elsewhere, a marriage hits the rocks, a resident’s mistake needs fixing, and Tommy receives some unsettling news.

On the cobbles of Coronation Street (ITV, 8:00 PM), a distraught Theo puts the pressure on Todd to resolve their ongoing family crisis. Daisy floats the idea of a fresh start to Daniel, while Brian finally opens up about his feelings for Julie. In other developments, Lauren visits her father in prison, Gemma intervenes to prevent Chesney from confronting Mick, and Eileen takes George to task for something he’s done.
