UK Thriller “After the Flood” Premieres May 13 on BritBox
BritBox International has announced the original thriller, After the Flood, will premiere on Monday, May 13, with two episodes airing each week.
The six-part series is a mystery thriller set in a town hit by a devastating flood. The story centres on PC Joanna Marshall, played by Sophie Rundle, who discovers an unidentified man dead in a lift in an underground car park. Police assume he became trapped as the waters rose, but Marshall is determined to uncover the truth behind his death. As the investigation unfolds, Marshall becomes obsessed with solving the case, even as the flood threatens to expose secrets and long-buried truths.
The series also stars Nicholas Gleaves as Sergeant Phil Mackie, Marshall’s boss and surrogate father figure, and Philip Glenister as property developer Jack Radcliffe. Lorraine Ashbourne plays Marshall’s mother, Molly, while Matt Stokoe plays Marshall’s husband, Pat. Jonas Armstrong joins the cast as Lee, a seemingly heroic local man, and Jacqueline Boatswain is local politician Sarah Mackie.
After the Flood is written by Mick Ford, who is known for his work on Stay Close, Living the Dream, and The Stranger. The series is directed by Azhur Saleem and produced by Quay Street Productions in association with ITV Studios.
The show first premiered in the UK earlier this year, receiving praise for its riveting storylines, topical content, and stellar cast.
