Uma Thurman Stalks “Dexter: Resurrection”

Dexter New Blood Key Art

A blast of icy air just swept through Dexter Morgan’s snowy upstate New York hideaway. Uma Thurman is joining the cast of Dexter: Resurrection, and something tells me Dexter’s carefully constructed new life is about to get a whole lot more complicated. Thurman, stepping into the sharply tailored shoes of Charley, a former Special Ops officer turned security chief for the enigmatic billionaire Leon Prater, brings an intriguing new threat to the mix. Charley, described as “resourceful and meticulous,” sounds like exactly the kind of person who could sniff out Dexter’s buried secrets.

It’s a fascinating casting choice, bringing Thurman’s signature blend of steely resolve and simmering intensity to a show already teeming with morally ambiguous characters. How will Charley, guardian of a shadowy fortune, intersect with Dexter’s carefully constructed facade of normalcy? With Michael C. Hall returning as the titular blood-spatter analyst turned lumberjack-turned… whatever he’s pretending to be now, the stage is set for a chilling new chapter. Also returning are familiar faces David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, James Remar as Harry Morgan, and Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, Dexter’s son.

The air date for Resurrection is slated for Summer 2025 on Paramount+ With Showtime, hot on the heels of Dexter: Original Sin, the prequel series currently airing. Original Sin’s season finale, airs Friday, February 14, 2025 and we already know after the premiere episode that Dexter survived the gunshot wound we all thought had sealed his fate. He’s getting medical treatment, but for what? A fresh start? Or a reckoning? Thurman’s arrival suggests the latter. The question is, how deep does Charley’s surveillance go, and will Dexter be able to keep his true nature hidden from Prater’s ever-watchful right hand?

Could Charley’s presence hint at Leon Prater’s involvement in darker dealings, necessitating a security chief with her particular skillset? Is Prater the unseen puppet master pulling strings in Dexter’s new life, or will Charley’s keen eye be drawn to Dexter’s peculiar habits? Will the former Special Ops officer discover Dexter’s dark passenger lurking beneath his placid demeanor in Iron Lake?
