The UnBelievable with Dan Aykroyd Key Art

Dan Aykroyd, he of “Ghostbusters” and Blues Brothers fame, turns his attention to the jobs that would probably make even those gigs look glamorous. This week’s “The UnBelievable” explores history’s most bizarre and disgusting professions, and trust me, they don’t get much more disgusting than Victorian London’s “night soil men.”

Yes, someone had to clean up all that, well, you know. And if that’s not enough to churn your stomach, the episode also looks at professional mourners. Apparently, some folks just couldn’t be bothered to shed their own tears.

Rounding out this trio of terrible jobs is the surprisingly hazardous occupation of deer urine collector. Just imagine trying to explain that one at a cocktail party.

If you’re fascinated by the strange corners of history, this is your chance to witness some truly unbelievable jobs. Tune in to History on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 9:00 PM.
