Under the Banner of Heaven Premiere Date and Trailer from FX on Hulu



Under the Banner of Heaven, FX’s highly anticipated original limited series starring Andrew Garfield and Daisy Edgar-Jones and directed by Academy Award® winner Dustin Lance Black, will premiere exclusively on Hulu in the United States on Thursday, April 28. The limited series will be available soon on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ in all other markets under the Star name.

The first two episodes will be shown at the debut, followed by a new episode every five weeks for the next five weeks.

The limited series Under the Banner of Heaven, based on Jon Krakauer’s true-crime bestseller, depicts the events leading up to the 1984 murder of Brenda Wright Lafferty (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and her baby daughter in a Salt Lake Valley suburb.

Detective Jeb Pyre (Andrew Garfield) finds buried secrets about the LDS religion’s roots and the violent repercussions of uncompromising devotion as he investigates occurrences within the Lafferty family. Pyre, a devoted Mormon, is forced to rethink his own religion as a result of what he discovers.

The seven-episode limited series also stars Sam Worthington, Denise Gough, Wyatt Russell, Billy Howle, Gil Birmingham, Adelaide Clemens, Rory Culkin, Seth Numrich, Chloe Pirrie, and Sandra Seacat.

Under the Banner of Heaven is created by Academy Award-winner Dustin Lance Black, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. Also serving as executive producers are Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, and Anna Culp for Imagine Television; Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan of Aggregate Films; David Mackenzie and Gillian Berrie. Under the Banner of Heaven is produced by FX Productions.
