Following their work on The Essex Murders, investigative firm TMEYE returns to Sky Documentaries in 2025 with Who Killed Goldfinger? The series tackles the unsolved 2015 murder of infamous British criminal John Palmer.

Here’s the Lowdown: John “Goldfinger” Palmer was found dead in his Essex garden in June 2015. Initially thought to be from natural causes, his death was later confirmed as a professional assassination. The series re-examines Palmer’s life, including his acquittal for involvement in the £26 million Brink’s-Mat gold bullion robbery and his later imprisonment for timeshare fraud. The investigation includes new testimony from Palmer’s close associates.

What This Means Now: As the 10th anniversary of Palmer’s death nears, TMEYE plans to shed new light on the cold case. Their previous investigation into the “Essex Boys” murders contributed to a review by the Criminal Cases Review Commission, adding weight to their involvement here.

The Bigger Picture: The series intends to trace Palmer’s connections across multiple countries, culminating in the investigators identifying their prime suspect. It offers a look into the world of high-level organised crime and the enduring mystery surrounding the death of a figure who once rivalled the Queen on the Sunday Times Rich List. Who Killed Goldfinger? arrives on Sky Documentaries and NOW in 2025.
