Vernon Kay will be tackling an ambitious ULTRA Ultramarathon Challenge to support BBC Children In Need. Over the course of four days, he will traverse a distance of approximately 115 miles, starting from Victoria Park in Leicester and ending at Bolton Wanderers’ football stadium in his hometown. The challenge will be broadcast live on Radio 2 and BBC Sounds, with additional coverage on social media channels. Throughout his journey, Vernon will receive support from Radio 2 presenters, special guests, and listeners’ messages.
“I’m up for it… so come on, let’s do this!”
Vernon says “I was just settling into my new mid-morning routine and now this! Everyone who has previously undertaken a BBC Children in Need challenge has raised so much money for this brilliant charity, so the pressure is on, but I’m up for it… so come on, let’s do this!”
Who is behind the challenge
The ULTRA Ultramarathon Challenge is organized in support of BBC Children In Need’s 2023 Appeal by Radio 2. Previous challenges have successfully raised millions of pounds for the charity. The challenge is part of Radio 2’s ongoing efforts to make a positive impact on the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
