Golden Globe-winner Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible, Pulp Fiction) will host and executive produce a new History Channel series, History’s Deadliest (working title), which will present the grim details behind history’s most extreme killers, weapons, battles, and disasters. The ten-episode series is being put together by Propagate Content.
Here’s the Lowdown: The show, which has a ten-episode order, will examine the “stranger than truth” facts behind some of history’s deadliest people, places, things, and events. Each hour-long episode will explore the backstories and shocking consequences of these historical occurrences.
What This Means Now: This is a new project for Rhames, known for his commanding presence and voice, taking on the role of both host and executive producer. The show is using expert interviews, archival footage, and graphics to add to the usual detail of the historical context.
The Bigger Picture: History’s Deadliest (w.t.) is produced by Propagate Content, founded by Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens. A+E Global Media holds worldwide distribution rights. Each episode will be available to stream the day after airing on The HISTORY Channel™ app, history.com, and various TV provider VOD platforms. The show appears set to be one of the channel’s flagships shows, and has an award winning team behind it.
