Vito Coppola has won Celebrity MasterChef 2024, becoming the 19th champion of the popular BBC One series. Competing against 19 other celebrities, Coppola emerged victorious after six weeks of cook-offs and rigorous culinary challenges. He faced TV presenter Craig Doyle and actor Rochenda Sandall in the final, where judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode awarded him the coveted title.
The Finals Week included a series of difficult tasks. One highlight saw the finalists running the lunch service on the British Pullman, a train known for its historical luxury. The contestants were also tasked with creating a dish inspired by someone meaningful to them, adding a personal element to their cooking as they aimed for a spot in the final three.
The final three contestants then faced the demanding Chef’s Table challenge. This year’s event took place at Michelin-starred Woven, hosted by chef Adam Smith. The cooks had to present exceptional dishes to a group of top culinary professionals, including Michelin-starred chefs Aktar Islam, Anna Haugh, and Frederick Forster.
In the final episode, Coppola, Doyle, and Sandall had two hours to prepare their Ultimate Dinner Party Menu. Each contestant was expected to deliver their finest dishes of the competition.
Coppola’s winning menu featured Scialatielli Allo Scoglio, a seafood pasta with clams, mussels, calamari, and prawns. For dessert, he served Babà Di Vito, a cake soaked in rum, paired with zabaione and cherries in syrup.
Coppola now joins a list of previous Celebrity MasterChef champions, including Wynne Evans, Lisa Snowdon, Kadeena Cox MBE, Riyadh Khalaf, and Greg Rutherford.
