Snowpiercer Key Art

Just in time for the unofficial sci-fi holiday on May the 4th, VIZIO’s free streaming service, WatchFree+, is loading up a batch of science fiction movies available without dropping a dime, offering a cost-free way to explore other worlds and dystopian futures.

This collection of sci-fi cinema becomes available on VIZIO WatchFree+ starting Wednesday, May 1. The selection spans various subgenres, from action-heavy tales to more thoughtful thrillers, all under the banner of free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST).

The curated movie list includes some great titles and talent. You can stream the chilly class warfare of “Snowpiercer” with Chris Evans or the vampiric future of “Daybreakers” starring Ethan Hawke. If twisty mysteries are more your speed, there’s the Charlie Sheen-led alien contact film “The Arrival” or the Nicolas Cage disaster predictor “Knowing.”

Action fans get Gerard Butler in “Gamer,” Chris Evans (again) and Dakota Fanning in “Push,” and the James Franco-directed “Future World.” The classic anime “Ghost in the Shell” is also included, alongside the family-and-powers story “Kin,” the youthful adventure “Star Kid” with Joseph Mazzello, Boots Riley’s unique corporate satire “Sorry to Bother You” featuring LaKeith Stanfield, and the space-bound generational drama “Voyagers” with Colin Farrell and Lily-Rose Depp.
