The first eight episodes of Waterloo Road’s fourteenth season will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer from 10 September 2024. The season kicks off with Joe, the school’s leader, finding himself in a difficult position as he tries to help a friend, inadvertently turning the teaching staff against him. Meanwhile, Libby discovers an unexpected hero after facing harassment.
In the following episodes, the school welcomes a new head, Steve Savage, who quickly imposes a set of updated rules. A new student becomes the target of Schuey, and Donte steps up to support a struggling Tonya.
Relationships are tested, including that of Coral and Neil, as she is asked to reprimand him. The school hosts a Battle of the Bands, and Val highlights the lack of support for teachers, facing mounting pressure. Tonya struggles to be believed as she endures a crisis.
Billy finally fights back, but things take a disastrous turn. A new deaf pupil, Luca, joins the school and acts out as he deals with the challenge of fitting in. Suspicions rise as attention turns to a missing pupil, and Kelly Jo finds her voice to stand up for what’s right. Steve and Nicky panic as Preston becomes caught in the crossfire of Steve’s actions, and Schuey makes a desperate call.
