“The Way Home” finally answered a burning question: Casey’s true identity. Turns out, Alice’s suspicions were correct –– Casey is a time traveler.

The reveal came in layers. First, Del discovered Casey was a client of Sam’s, seeking legal advice despite their youth. Alice, meanwhile, found Casey’s abandoned belongings in the Landrys’ attic. When confronted, Casey admitted to being the “squatter,” claiming a difficult home life in 2024 led them to seek refuge with the Landrys, whom they felt were like family. Casey also admitted to seeking legal help from Sam and interfering with Lewis’s land purchase, all as a way of thanking the family.

But the real confirmation came when Alice spotted Kat’s engagement ring around Casey’s neck. When questioned, Casey fled, leading Alice on a chase to the pond –– the portal to the past. Casey jumped in and vanished, proving their time-traveling abilities.

While Casey’s origins are now clear, their connection to Alice remains a mystery. Could Casey be Alice’s future child?
