The Way Home: You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet (Hallmark Channel, Friday, January 3, 2025)

The Way Home Key Art

Time travel, family secrets, and Canadian charm – that’s the recipe for Hallmark Channel’s The Way Home, returning for its third season with a trip back to the 1970s. Picking up right where Season 2 left off, Kat and a now-grown-up Jacob are poised to surprise Del, no doubt with some time-bending revelation. But the real focus this season is 1974, the year young Del and Colton first crossed paths.

Flashback sequences will dominate, giving viewers a glimpse into the Landry family’s past, specifically the era that shaped their present-day complicated relationships. New actors join the cast as teenage versions of Del, Colton, and Evelyn, adding a fresh dynamic to the familiar family drama.

While the time-travel element provides a convenient plot device, it’s the interpersonal relationships that truly drive The Way Home. This season will undoubtedly explore Alice’s complicated connection with young Evelyn, while Elliot grapples with his own past as he attempts to build a future with Kat.

After a second season that saw Kat searching for Jacob in 1814 and Del fighting to save Landry Farm, the 1970s setting feels like a more grounded, character-driven approach.
