Lifetime is going full-tilt festive with We Three Kings, a holiday movie engineered to tug at those heartstrings while simultaneously reminding us that no family gathering is complete without a healthy dose of complicated relationships. BeBe Winans plays Lincoln, a retired musician who clearly subscribes to the “if you build it, they will come” philosophy. In this case, “it” is a Christmas reunion, and “they” are his estranged daughters. The target? A heartwarming reconciliation just in time for the holidays.
Lincoln, aided by family friend Genelle (Deborah Joy Winans), sets his plan in motion, drawing the King sisters—Lydia (Lisa Berry), Gracie (Faith Wright), and Abigail (Bethany Brown)—back to their childhood home for the first time since their mother’s death. The stage is thus set for a festive blend of holiday music, simmering romantic subplots, and a healthy dollop of rediscovering the charm of one’s hometown. And maybe, just maybe, some actual heartfelt reconciliation.
While the plot treads familiar territory—family secrets, long-held resentments, and the transformative power of Christmas spirit—the cast offers a welcome dose of charisma. Romeo Miller also appears to add another dimension to the already brimming King family drama. Will the sisters embrace the spirit of the season and find their way back to each other? Will the romantic entanglements complicate or expedite the healing process? Will Lincoln’s Christmas miracle come to pass? I mean, it’s Lifetime, what do you think? Let’s just hope this familial reunion offers a few genuine moments among the holiday movie tropes.
