The Liars have arrived. Prime Video has dropped the full-length trailer for We Were Liars, its upcoming eight-part adaptation of E. Lockhart’s best-selling YA novel. The series lands June 18 in more than 240 countries.
Set against the hazy privilege of a New England island estate, We Were Liars centers on Cadence Sinclair Eastman and her inner circle—dubbed “the Liars”—as their idyllic summer unravels in the aftermath of a traumatic accident. The trailer sets the tone for what’s coming: sharp teen drama wrapped in secrets, denial, and generational dysfunction.
Emily Alyn Lind leads the cast as Cadence, joined by Shubham Maheshwari, Esther McGregor, and Joseph Zada. Rounding out the ensemble are Caitlin FitzGerald, Mamie Gummer, Candice King, Rahul Kohli, and David Morse.
The project comes from Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie, who both write and exec produce. It’s produced by Universal Television and Amazon MGM Studios, with the original novel released by Delacorte Press.
With its binge drop scheduled and the trailer already drawing buzz, We Were Liars is well-positioned to grab YA thriller fans and summer streaming traffic.
