Weird Britain continues its tour of the UK’s strange side with a stop in Nottinghamshire this Wednesday, 18 June. Airing at 9:00 PM BST on BLAZE, the episode sees hosts Andy McGrath and Dr. Kate Cherrell go looking for local legends, haunted history, and anything else that falls outside the lines of a standard historical tour.
Their first stop is Nottingham’s macabre museum, home to creepy dolls and a haunted hearse. From there, Kate Cherrell ventures into the National Justice Museum, a 17th-century courthouse and former prison where spirits are said to linger. Meanwhile, Andy McGrath heads to one of Britain’s oldest pubs to investigate the story of a cursed galleon, a legend tied to an unpaid bar tab from centuries ago.
McGrath also takes a run at the big one: Robin Hood. He attempts to find out if there’s any truth to the myth of the man who stole from the rich to give to the poor. The episode is a deep dive into the county’s folklore, combining paranormal investigation with historical inquiry to get a fuller picture of Nottinghamshire’s peculiar heritage.
