Weird Britain: Staffordshire (BLAZE, Wednesday, 28 May, 2025)

Secret Restoration

Prepare for a trip to the uncanny side of Staffordshire this Wednesday as “Weird Britain” continues its exploration of the UK’s strange and unusual lore. Presenter Andy McGrath, joined by Dr. Kate Cherrell, takes on a trio of peculiar cases, examining local legends and haunted locations with their signature blend of skepticism and open-mindedness.

First up is the tale of the Kidsgrove boggart, a mischievous spirit said to haunt the local area. The team also turns their attention to a haunted canal, exploring the history behind the ghostly tales and speaking with those who claim to have experienced the supernatural firsthand. Will they find evidence of paranormal activity, or is there a more earthly explanation for these unnerving accounts?

McGrath’s solo quest involves tracking down the purported location of the Green Knight, the formidable foe of Sir Gawain from Arthurian legend. Separating fact from fiction, McGrath attempts to connect the mythical figure to real-world locations in Staffordshire.

“Weird Britain” airs Wednesday, 28 May at 9:00 PM GMT on BLAZE.
