It’s Staten Island versus Hollywood, or at least some scrappy NYU film students, in the latest installment of FX’s vampire mockumentary. “P.I. Undercover: New York,” the eighth episode of What We Do in the Shadows’ sixth season, finds Nandor and Laszlo facing off against a film crew daring to shoot in their neighborhood. One can only imagine the kind of permits these bloodsuckers think are required. Will there be talk of craft services? Will Laszlo try to explain the nuances of German Expressionism to a gaffer desperately trying to rig a bounce board?
Meanwhile, Colin Robinson and Nadja are embarking on what is being billed as a “couples’ night” with an old friend. Now, “couples’ night” can mean anything in the world of these eccentric vampires. Is it a former familiar returning for a cameo? A forgotten creature from their past? A rival energy vampire who shares Colin Robinson’s enthusiasm for draining the life force out of every room?
What We Do in the Shadows airs Thursdays at 10 PM on FX.
