Hope Valley is about to get a dose of unexpected company, and knowing this town, that means a fresh wave of interpersonal complications. Sunday’s episode of “When Calls the Heart,” titled “Mom’s the Word,” sees Elizabeth implementing new, progressive teaching methods in her classroom, which, if we’re being honest, will probably charm some and ruffle the feathers of the more traditional Hope Valley residents. Meanwhile, Nathan finds himself going undercover, which is always a recipe for mild peril in this usually tranquil setting.
But the real hook here? The return of a familiar face to Hope Valley, accompanied by a supposedly down-on-her-luck heiress. That sounds like the foundation of a Hallmark mystery, or at the very least, some awkward small-town social gatherings. Let’s just hope the heiress’s misfortune doesn’t involve a contested will or a long-lost relative who also happens to be a notorious cattle rustler.
Elsewhere in Hope Valley, Lucas and Lee are still at odds, because apparently running a saloon and a general store together isn’t all shared mugs of sarsaparilla and friendly bartering. Their disagreements are ongoing, and one starts to wonder if they’ll ever truly settle their differences or if their bickering will become a permanent fixture of the Hope Valley soundscape, like the clip-clop of horses’ hooves or the distant hum of Rosemary’s typewriter.
Tune in to see how these threads intertwine on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 9:00 PM on Hallmark Channel.
