Hope Valley is back, and as usual, change is in the air. The season 12 premiere of “When Calls the Heart” sets up new storylines for its beloved characters. Little Jack’s first day of school arrives, but there’s a surprise in store for Elizabeth that might overshadow the milestone. Let’s hope it’s not another Mountie showing up with a bouquet of wildflowers and a yearning gaze.
Nathan, ever the stoic Mountie, begins mentoring a new cadet. Because apparently, maintaining law and order in a quaint Canadian town requires an apprentice. Meanwhile, Rosemary and Lee make a big decision. Knowing them, it probably involves a new business venture, a social event, or perhaps a baby on the way. The possibilities are endless, though the outcome will undoubtedly be heartwarming.
Basically, if you’re a “Heartie,” a season premiere is your Super Bowl. Expect heartwarming moments, gentle conflict, and enough picturesque scenery to fill a calendar.
