The second season of Wildcard Kitchen kicks off with a familiar reality TV trope: sibling rivalry. This time it’s chefs Bryan and Michael Voltaggio, facing off against Jet Tila in a culinary poker game where the ante is a cool $30,000. Because simply cooking delicious food isn’t stressful enough, apparently.
Presiding over this high-stakes cook-off in the Food Network test kitchen is host Eric Adjepong, who presumably has a defibrillator on standby for when the inevitable Voltaggio brotherly blow-up occurs. The competition’s structure is fairly straightforward: chefs receive cards that dictate the dishes they have to prepare, with additional “wildcard” challenges thrown in just to keep things interesting.
Mystery guest judges, blissfully unaware of the kitchen theatrics, will determine the winner via blind taste tests. Will familial bonds be strained or broken under the pressure? Will Jet Tila emerge victorious, or will one of the Voltaggio brothers claim bragging rights (and a substantial chunk of cash)?
Wildcard Kitchen airs Tuesday, January 7, 2024, at 9:00 PM on Food Network.
