Spring has sprung, and with it comes a flurry of activity at the Living Sky Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Saskatchewan. National Geographic Wild’s new series, “Wildlife Rehab,” offers a heartwarming, albeit sometimes chaotic, look at the dedication and hard work involved in rescuing and caring for animals in need.
In this episode (the first of two tonight), “Baby Boom,” airing Saturday, March 29 at 10:00 PM ET, the center, led by Saskatchewan’s first registered wildlife rehabilitator, Jan, is inundated with new arrivals. Orphaned and injured animals—from sick foxes to fluffy baby geese—require immediate attention. The team faces constant challenges as they make critical decisions, determining treatment plans and, in some cases, making difficult calls about an animal’s chances of survival.
“Wildlife Rehab” aims to go beyond the typical nature documentary, exploring the human side of this relentless mission. It’s a story of tireless work, both heartbreaking and inspiring, as the team strives to return every rescued animal to the wild.
