The dedicated team at South Essex Wildlife Hospital are back for another episode of Wildlife Rescue, airing tonight at 8 pm on Channel 4. The hospital, founded in 1995, is the only facility of its kind in Essex, London, and Kent, specialising in the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured, orphaned, or sick wild animals.
In tonight’s episode, the team must tend to a variety of animals, including two orphaned fawns, Rosie and Lily. Rosie, the first orphan fawn of the year, will act as a guide for the newly-born Lily, who needs to be bottle-fed and taught to suckle. The team must also care for Lois, a grey seal pup who was attacked by a dog and has since refused to eat. Their challenge is to help Lois regain her natural urge to eat fish so that she can eventually be released back into the wild.
The hospital also takes in a fallen tawny owlet named Gizmo, who finds company in Hogwart, another tawny owlet already receiving care at the hospital. However, Hogwart’s wing injury may prevent his release, so the team must closely monitor his progress to determine if he can be released with Gizmo as planned.
With a resident vet and specialist facilities, the South Essex Wildlife Hospital is committed to saving UK wildlife and putting life back into the wild.
Wildlife Rescue Episode 3 airs on Channel 4 at 8.00 pm on Wednesday 1 May 2024.
