Billie’s first real taste of mortal high school life arrives with an invitation to the eighth-grade dance from bad boy Quentin. While she is thrilled at the prospect of a normal teenage night out, a suspicious Justin sees something more than just adolescent rebellion in the mysterious newcomer. His protective instincts are on high alert, creating a classic Russo family clash between a teen wanting independence and a mentor fearing a magical catastrophe.
