Teenage angst takes a magical turn in this week’s Wizards Beyond Waverly Place. Billie, still reeling from that pesky prophecy about either destroying or saving the wizarding world (talk about pressure!), attempts to abstain from all things spell-related. Which, as any fan of the show knows, is about as easy as keeping a Russo out of a sub shop.
Adding to the magical mayhem, a mischievous creature, the Squonk, decides to make the Russo house its personal playground. Chaos, naturally, ensues. Billie, convinced that her mere presence is a magical magnet for trouble, starts to question whether she’s even capable of controlling her powers. Even without actively casting spells, it seems disaster follows her like a lovesick gnome.
Meanwhile, Justin, playing the role of reluctant wizard mentor in the mortal realm, tries to guide Billie through this magical minefield. Let’s be real, Justin’s teaching style probably involves more lectures than levitation, but hey, he tries. The real question is: will Billie break under the pressure of the prophecy and the Squonk’s shenanigans, or will she find a way to manage her magic and maintain some semblance of sanity in the Russo household?
