The Seven Seas Splendor sets sail around the Canary Islands, celebrating the cruise company’s 30th anniversary in style. In this episode, Assistant Cruise Director Alex and Social Hostess Annabel take center stage as they organize a glamorous black and gold-themed party to mark the end of the cruise. But before the festivities can begin, the ship makes a historic first-time docking in Gibraltar, with Annabel tasked with giving a guided tour to local dignitaries to secure the ship’s future visits to the port.
Annabel has a plethora of dazzling features to showcase during the tour, but a few unexpected hitches along the way add an element of challenge. Meanwhile, Sommelier Diana and Food and Beverage Manager Marianna embark on a unique mission in Lanzarote. They visit a local winery, seeking a distinctive wine made from grapes grown in volcanic soil to commemorate the company’s 30th anniversary.
Back in the kitchen, Executive Sous Chef Kamlesh initiates a competition during dinner service to motivate his team to create exceptional party food for the anniversary celebration. He divides the kitchen into two groups, with one team crafting a showstopping Beef Wellington and the other perfecting a delicate Lobster Thermidor. The winning dish will be decided by the restaurant diners themselves.
As the pressure intensifies, Kamlesh challenges the chefs to create canapes for the grand birthday bash. At the same time, Filipino Assistant Sous Chef Elmar finds himself under scrutiny as he strives for a well-deserved promotion. The episode captures the raw emotion of Elmar’s journey as he calls his family back home to share the outcome of his assessment.
