Let the groaning commence! The World’s Strongest Man competition concludes on New Year’s Day, and if the previous events are anything to go by, we’re in for a spectacle of Herculean proportions. Ten behemoths, whittled down from the initial field, will battle it out in six events designed to test the limits of human endurance. We’re talking lifting and carrying giant toolboxes, pressing train wheels overhead – the kind of stuff that makes your average gym workout look like a gentle stroll in the park.
The grand finale, of course, wouldn’t be complete without the iconic Atlas Stones. Watching these guys hoist those massive spheres onto pedestals is always a nail-biting experience. Will we see a new champion crowned, or will a familiar face reclaim the title? The tension is thicker than a strongman’s beard.
Providing the color commentary are James Richardson, Michelle Ackerley, and 2017 World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall, with play-by-play from Colin Bryce and Danny Wallace. Their combined expertise and enthusiasm add another level of enjoyment to the proceedings.
The World’s Strongest Man 2024 Grand Final airs on Channel 5 on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at 7:30 PM.
