NBC’s new culinary competition, “Yes, Chef!,” continues this Monday with an episode that flips the script on its high-strung contestants. In “Taste of Your Own Medicine,” the chefs – individuals accustomed to barking orders and dishing out harsh critiques – find themselves on the receiving end of the judgment. It’s a role reversal designed to test not only their culinary chops but also their humility and ability to take direction.
The $250,000 grand prize, courtesy of granola brand Purely Elizabeth, is at stake, but even more valuable is the opportunity for these chefs to grow, to examine how their stubbornness or intensity might be holding them back. “Yes, Chef!” sets out to identify hidden talent, to find the cooks whose potential is being overshadowed by their own egos. This challenge puts those issues front and center. How well can they adapt? Can they swallow their pride and follow instructions? Can they actually hear and process criticism without turning up the heat?
Tune in to NBC on Monday, May 19 at 10:00 PM ET for a lesson in culinary role reversal.
