Yorkshire

Channel 4’s documentary series Yorkshire By the Sea continues with its latest instalment, airing on Monday, 19 August 2024, at 8:00 pm. In this episode, we follow several stories from the Yorkshire coast, including a fisherman’s journey, a new recruit, and an ambitious couple’s endeavour.

Fisherman Darren ventures into the North Sea from Staithes, seeking lobster and crab. These shellfish have become a significant part of the catch on the Yorkshire coast, and conservationists play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy lobster population. We explore how they achieve this through breeding and releasing lobsters from a specialised hatchery in Whitby.
