A Yorkshire Farm returns to 5 for its second season premiere on Tuesday, July 8, at 7 PM. The opening episode sees farmers Rob and Dave Nicholson busy harvesting sloes, not for wine, but for artisanal chocolate. Meanwhile, Yorkshire Vet Matt Smith takes eco-friendliness to a new level by turning alpaca poo into fire bricks. And for those with a sweet tooth, Peter Wright checks out beekeeping before trying the honey.
The series continues its focus on farm life beyond the usual, with JB Gill visiting a Welsh farmer who crafts medicine from daffodils, and Shire horse Blossom starting her training as a working horse at Cannon Hall Farm. Not to be outdone, Adam Henson tends to his unusual native pigs in the Cotswolds.
The episode also takes Rob and Dave out of Yorkshire and over to Northern Ireland to honor Geoffrey the reindeer with custom crooks, before they visit a Swiss dairy farm. Back home, JB Gill’s travels continue with a trip to Devon to visit a farmer growing mushrooms. It is a wide look at farm life with many angles, from the practical to the truly strange.
