The rolling hills of Yorkshire trade tractors for top hats this Thursday as The Yorkshire Vet rolls into The Great Yorkshire Show. Airing at 8 PM on Channel 5, the long-running series swaps the usual farm calls for a taste of agricultural pageantry. But don’t think it’s all prize pigs and picnic baskets—there’s still plenty of veterinary work to be done.
Rob and Dave Nicholson of Cannon Hall Farm need a helping hand from the Yorkshire Vet team after a recent run of animal injuries. Peter Wright finds himself facing down a Highland bull named Murphy in the show ring. And for Rohin Aojula, the challenge comes in the form of Sultan, the farm’s new two-ton bull. Let’s just say Sultan isn’t exactly keen on taking direction.
Away from the large animal drama, Shona Searson is focused on a different kind of horsepower, entering Blossom and Valentine in the Shire horse mare and foal class. And, because even vets need a break, Julian Norton and Lucy are on a mission to win a cuddly toy—proof that some things are universal, even at a prestigious agricultural show.
The Yorkshire Vet airs Thursday, 12 June at 8:00 PM on Channel 5.
