Well then, Sharon’s confessed to murder on “The Young and the Restless,” and if that isn’t the kind of twist that keeps the soap opera gravy train rolling, I don’t know what is. Friday’s episode saw Sharon spilling her guts to Nick, claiming responsibility for Heather Stevens’ demise, a crime previously pinned on her son, Daniel. Of course, this wouldn’t be a soap opera without a hefty dose of convenient amnesia and ghostly manipulation, now would it?
Apparently, Sharon’s confession stems from a recent blackout behind the wheel. She wandered to the scene of Phyllis’s accident, convinced she’d caused it. Then, enter Cameron Kirsten – yes, that Cameron Kirsten – in hallucination form, because why not? He’s apparently the puppet master behind Sharon’s near-poisoning of Daniel and, seemingly, Heather’s murder. It’s enough to make your head spin faster than a roulette wheel at the Grand Casino.
As for Nick, he’s left speechless, and let’s face it, that’s a rare occurrence. He’s grappling with this bombshell, probably wondering if he should call a therapist or an exorcist.
Elsewhere in Genoa City, Kyle stumbled upon Diane and Jack’s protective scheme, leaving him less than thrilled. Victor, ever the meddler, confirmed Diane’s influence over Kyle at Jabot, throwing more fuel on that already smoldering family fire. Billy, in classic Billy fashion, moaned to Sally about Jill’s decision to sell Chancellor-Abbott, but Sally, bless her heart, saw right through his act. And in a moment of pure soap opera magic, Abby’s bouquet landed squarely in Audra’s hands. Let the wedding speculation commence!
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays at 12:30 PM on CBS.
