The Young and the Restless Tuesday November 19 Recap “Sharon’s Confession Rocks Genoa City”

The Young and the Restless

Genoa City just got a whole lot shakier. Sharon has confessed to Phyllis’s murder. While Phyllis remains in her coma-dream-state, Sharon’s decided to take the fall. Now, is she actually guilty? That’s the million-dollar question, or perhaps the multi-million-dollar question, considering the Newman family’s involvement.

Sharon’s out on bail, but she’s less interested in freedom than in self-flagellation. She’s convinced she needs to pay for this crime, even if (and it’s a big if) she didn’t commit it. Daniel, naturally, is less than thrilled. His fury at Sharon is palpable, and he’s questioning how she could even think about doing such a thing, let alone confess to it.

Meanwhile, let’s not forget Ian Ward, lurking in the shadows like a cockroach you just can’t seem to kill. Turns out, he’s been pulling strings behind the scenes, reveling in Sharon’s misery and her impending separation from everyone she loves. And because no soap opera is complete without some corporate maneuvering, Victor’s given Diane access to Glissade. But there’s a twinkle in his eye, suggesting this is just one piece of a much larger, and undoubtedly nefarious, puzzle.

Michael Baldwin, ever the dutiful attorney, has agreed to represent Sharon. He plans to use her medication mix-up as a cornerstone of her defense. At least someone’s thinking strategically. Elsewhere, Chance has dropped the charges against Daniel, Christine is grappling with complicated feelings about Phyllis, and Summer is urging her comatose mother to wake up so she can bask in the glow of being right (as always).

Oh, and Jordan’s working with Ian, keeping him updated on Sharon’s case. So that’s a healthy partnership. Finally, Jack and Diane’s scheme to grab Glissade for Kyle has worked. But Kyle, ever the skeptic, remains unforgiving. And Nikki? Well, she’s just stunned by the whole ordeal. Frankly, who isn’t?
