On Tuesday’s The Young and the Restless, suspicion continues to swirl around Sharon’s pill bottle like cheap cologne in a crowded elevator. Nick, never one to trust a coincidence (especially in Genoa City), snagged Sharon’s discarded medication and promptly dispatched it to Chance and the GCPD forensics lab. Because clearly, the only thing more reliable than the Genoa City Police Department is the postal service.
Meanwhile, Sharon, seemingly determined to win a gold medal in self-sabotage, insists on pleading guilty and taking a one-way ticket to the slammer. Despite Michael’s best lawyerly efforts to talk some sense into her, she remains resolute. Nick, armed with newfound purpose (and hopefully, some decent lab results), urges her to pump the brakes until they have more information. One can only hope she listens, though past experience suggests otherwise.
Elsewhere, the plot thickened like week-old gravy as Jordan unveiled her true allegiance to Ian Ward, everyone’s favorite unstable villain. He promptly assigned her the task of spying on Sharon’s daughters. Because apparently, menacing Sharon directly just isn’t enough drama for one week. So, now Faith and Mariah are in the crosshairs, and if history’s any indicator, this won’t end well for anyone involved.
Speaking of daughters, Faith valiantly defended her mother to a distraught Lucy, who’s currently convinced Sharon is the embodiment of pure evil. This, of course, put a strain on their friendship, proving that even pre-teen drama can be potent enough to curdle milk.
In a lighter (though equally predictable) turn of events, Kyle and Claire finally succumbed to their mutual attraction, proving that some things in Genoa City are as inevitable as the sunrise (or Victor Newman’s next power play). Jordan, ever the busy bee, was spotted lurking outside Society, keeping tabs on the young lovers and Faith. Her omnipresence suggests that danger might be brewing for the younger generation of Genoa City residents. Which, let’s face it, is pretty much par for the course. As for Ian’s true intentions? They remain murkier than a swamp, despite his apparent cooperation with Jordan. Is he playing her? Is she playing him? Is anyone in Genoa City capable of genuine human connection? The answers, as always, remain elusive.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays at 12:30 PM on CBS.
